Shelves are sturdy; bought this model for thicker shelving to avoid sags. Not fully populated yet so not sure if sagging is yet to come, but more promising than the last shelves. Unfortunately this model uses one of those cheap cardboard backings to finish off the back and keep the books from falling out. Some other models in this range use particle board for the backing, which I would have preferred. It was slightly marred in a couple of places so it is obvious it is cardboard. Easy enough to put together, though they skimp on the labeling so you have use a deductive process to identify some pieces. Fit was pretty good, the board that covers the bottom did not align precisely which leaves a slight seam of particle board without the veneers peeking out, which is unfortunate. Given the pre-drilled holes (good for assembly of course) there didn't appear to be a way to make this go away.
